Hello
Well folks, this is most of what I have to offer right now. There are 3 or 4 on a page, and I've given a
short explanation of how I ended up with the final
piece. I have photos of most in progress. If you'd like
to see them or have a question, send me a note. I'll
be glad to send them along.
The "around the yard" section will tell you more about me than the bio.
So go ahead and have a look and we'll talk at the end.

This lamp started with a piece running right down the center from top to bottom and the legs going off at weird angles. That piece didn't make the final cut.
The two little pieces in the center took forever to get right. Someone probably knows how to multiply pi times the obtuse angle or something or other, but I don't.
I used templates and stubbornness.
I have photos.

This is a palm frond, found on the street when the wind was blowing. A buddy bet me that I couldn't do anything with it. It took two years on and off to get here.
The frond itself is sturdier than you'd think.
I had to take care not to damage it, since everything was bent or cut to fit it only.
They're like snowflakes, no two the same. And if I had damaged it, I would have had to throw everything else away.

This is a study in the disconnectedness of the singular man, yet the sturdiness, even functionality of society as....
Ha Ha! Just kidding!
I really like this little thing. I had a few pieces of poplar and mahogany left from a stand you'll see a little further on, and wanted to make something using only what I had. After a few evenings sitting and staring at it I came up with this.
Everyone looks twice.

Just a couple rocking chairs. Western red cedar, mortise and tenoned. Kinda modeled after a chair in my shop.
I figured that if I was going to make all those jigs, I might as well make two.
I made them a little high to fit me, so I added the stools underneath.
These are not lay back, go to sleep rockers.
These are sit on the porch, talk about the neighbors rockers.
